Who is trx-01?

trx-01 is the project of the electronic music artist/composer/producer Hermes A. Borges. He combines his Brazilian roots with elements of post rock, trip-hop, and IDM like Mogwai, Massive Attack, Orbital and Aphex Twin and the melodic and progressive trends seen in the likes of Maceo Plex and Tim Engelhardt. His repertoire consists of an electronic variety that goes from abstract/downtempo and ambient, to techno and house. “A Digital Hero”, trx-01’s single to be released soon, is a song that flirts with the aesthetics of two genres that go hand in hand with the 80s: retrowave/synthwave.

Being into music since an early teen, in his 20s he started to write his own songs. But it was only after 2007 that he made his definitive move towards the electronic segment. In between synthesizers, grooveboxes, sequencers and mixers, he has released two EPs and one single: “Space Wanderer”, first EP of the project, was released in 2019, followed by some singles late in that and in the next year: “Friday”, “In Urbe” and “Ambience”, the latter being a 4-track EP with ambient and relaxation songs.

And while trx-01 is in the final arrangements for the release of two singles in the next months, he’s also getting involved with the production of dynamic and adaptative audio (music & SFX) for games.
